125TH Anniversary celebration Letter

September 27, 2019

Dear Members and Friends,

We are excited to invite you to join Pleasant Grove Baptist Church as we celebrate our 125th Anniversary.

On Saturday, October 5, 2019 our church will host a come-and-go reception and open house from 5 to 7pm. We will enjoy refreshments, fellowship, and reconnecting with former members and guests.

The following day, our Sunday Service will begin at 10am. We will honor our past and look ahead to our future with a brief message from Pastor John Greer and Pastor Will Overstreet. Our program will continue with worship music, sharing video testimonies, historical videos and comments from special guests.

We will adjourn at 11:30, but hope that you will stay and visit as long as you wish. Outdoor seating will be provided for those who would like to purchase lunch. If not, you are welcome to bring a picnic and continue visiting. You are welcome to bring and share special memories, funny stories, photos, etc.

We hope you will join us as Pleasant Grove Baptist Church continues to "Gather, Grow and Go" in moving forward to wherever God leads us.

Thank you.

The Red Hat

The story of the red hat placed on the stage was in honor of Ms. Myra Edmondson. A member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for many years. She currently live in the northeast part of the United States- in the care of her loving daughter, Gretchen. Ms. Myra always made a point to dress as a southern lady and never attended church without a beautiful hat that always matched her outfit.

When she attended Pleasant Grove she was a delight to everyone with a smiling face and expressed her love of Christ in her actions. Her generous and loving spirit left an impact on the hearts that got to know her at Pleasant Grove. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church is so grateful to have members- past, present and future dedicated to sharing the Word of God through their words and actions.

Thank you, Ms. Myra for your years attending Pleasant Grove and the memories of the most beautiful hats.
